Clayton Langstaff, photographer
In the early 1950s, an English businessman sent on a company trip across war-ravaged Europe on the Orient Express takes, not the famed 60-hour direct trip from Paris to Istanbul, but rather a gradual itinerary with stops in major cities to visit company offices and to pursue his passion for organ music. This program describes, by way of letters home to his wife and the music he heard in the great churches near the Rail Stations, his progress, the cultural landscape he met, and the music that captured both.
