Alcée Chriss is the winner of the 2017 Canadian International Organ Competition (Montreal). He is also the winner of the Firmin Swinnen Silver Medal at the Longwood Gardens International Organ Competition 2016, where Choir and Organ magazine wrote, “Chriss stole the show.” He has performed throughout the United States and France and is emerging as an outstanding young concert artist of virtuosity and versatility.
In the fall of 2015, Alcée began his doctorate degree at McGill University where he studies with Hans-Ola Ericsson. He has performed in such venues as the Meyerson Symphony Center (Dallas, TX), John F. Kennedy Center, Washington National Cathedral, Caruth Auditorium, and is a featured performer for many festivals and music conventions. In addition to his organ and harpsichord studies, Alcée is active as a conductor and jazz pianist.
Alcée will be performing at St. Michael’s Cathedral Basilica (65 Bond St, Toronto, Ontario) on March 1st 2019, 7:00pm - 9:00pm as part of the St. Michael’s Concerts series. For people attending the concert, tax receipts are issued for donations of $25 and up (i.e. the “cost” of admission)
