Cadence is a 14 year old organist living in Blue Mountains, ON. Showing an early and varied interest in all music, she has played piano, classical guitar, drums, and filled all positions in a rock band.
Inspired by a meeting with Cameron Carpenter in 2016, and again in 2018, when she was able to play the International Touring Organ, Cadence was captivated by the infinite possibilities afforded by the instrument. Organ lessons ensued; first studying with Ann-Marie MacDairmid, MMus and since Covid, has been taking organ lessons with Dr. Sarah Svendsen. Cadence also currently studies piano with Emily Morrison.
Career highlights so far include performing on Toronto’s Metropolitan United Church Pipe Organ for the annual RCCO Phantoms of the Organ concert, performing with an ensemble for All Together Now - a production of Broadway classics, and recording an episode of Backyard Beats featuring the organ for TVOKids with Rashaan Allwood.
Cadence’s future aspirations include working more with ensembles, and making the organ more accessible and inclusive for young people.
When not at the organ, Cadence enjoys writing novels and spending time with her ponies and her rescued northern dog.
