American theatre organist Lew Williams presents a concert of pops favourites on the Wurlitzer theatre organ in Casa Loma. Included is a tribute to Quentin Maclean (1909-1962), the legendary Toronto organist who played at the Shea's theatre, Maple Leaf Gardens and countless programs on the CBC. Mr. Williams has made a special study of Maclean, having done research on his life and music at the National Archives in Ottawa. Mr. Williams' program will include a mix of music from shows, older standards and some newer ones that transfer well to the organ, some of Maclean's compositions such as "Parade of the Sunbeams" and/ or "Babbling," and the transcription Maclean did of "Rhapsody in Blue," using the organ's piano attachment. This program is presented by the Toronto Theatre Organ Society which owns and maintains the Wurlitzer theatre organ in the Great Hall of Casa Loma.
