Giulia Biagetti graduated in piano (Lucca), Organ and Organ Composition (Ferrara) and studied choral music and composition with Marino Pratali and Gaetano Giani Luporini. She has continued to raise her level of knowledge and performance by interacting and studying with famous Italian and foreign masters.
Since 1981, Maestra Biagetti has been an organist of the Cathedral of San Martino in Lucca and in 1996 was appointed as titular. The Cathedral is a church where many members of Puccinis family along with other famous organists have had the same distinction before her. As a teacher she taught Organ and Gregorian Chant at the "L. Boccherini" Conservatory of Lucca, piano and organ at the "R. Baralli" Diocesan School of Music and at the Diocesan Arch-Episcopal Seminary. She has also held the Chair of Organ at the Capannori Civic School of Music (LU). She has several publications to her credit and has collaborated for many years with various institutions and associations in promoting various cultural events.
She has recorded a CD with organ music from the Romantic period and another dedicated to Bach and his precursors. Her concert activity is significant in the overall mix of musical activities with hundreds of concerts held in the main Italian towns and elsewhere in Europe. Maestra Biagetti’s ORGANIX 20 performance is her first appearance in ORGANIX CONCERTS and the first visit to Canada.
